Strategic Planning 2020/21
Western is beginning a series of initiatives designed to engage all members of the campus community in the process of envisioning our future.
Together, we will develop Western’s next strategic plan.
The existing plan, Achieving Excellence on the World Stage, was adopted in January 2014 and has served us well.
The timing is right to look ahead to a new era filled with new challenges and opportunities for Western. Through a series of engagement opportunities, we will explore new ideas and imagine what the next chapter in Western’s amazing history might look like.

The Committee Structure
The Strategic Planning Steering Committee will include representatives from across the university that reflect the multiplicity of the work we do as a university as well as our people. The committee will have the responsibility for providing advice and helping steer the strategic planning process and the development of the plan itself.

Open Call for Nominations
On September 29, a call for nominations was sent to all students, faculty and staff at Western seeking nominations (including self-nominations) for twenty-one of the thirty-seven members who will make up the Strategic Planning Steering Committee. Nominations are being accepted until Friday, October 9 at 4p.m.
